Ipsos: Looking for Moms for Surveys {Make Money From Home!}

*This post contains affiliate links and we may be compensated when you use our links. DITM appreciates your support!

I have been posting a lot of different survey sites to sign up for lately.  I will only post ones that I have tried and love.

There are SO MANY out there and you want to remember:  NEVER pay to join a survey site.

Ipsos is great because they frequently offer in-home product testing and I have the ability to cash out my points for gift cards.

Deals in the Mitten Tip:  If you are worried about e-mail clutter, I recommend creating a separate “coupon/deals/surveys/sweeps” email account.  That way your regular e-mail doesn’t get bogged down with too much stuff.

PineCone Research is accepting NEW members!

Pinecone research pays a few dollars for every survey you complete.  You can only complete as many as they send you, but every little bit helps!  I have done their surveys in the past, and they usually take 10-15 minutes each…easy peasy…and a great way to make a few bucks while drinking your morning coffee.

To see if you qualify, just go here and fill out a very short questionnaire.  If they are looking for people in your demographic you may be accepted.

You will earn points for each completed product survey, which can be exchanged for cash and other rewards.  PLUS you will be automatically entered into a bi-weekly Sweepstakes to win additional cash prizes for your time.  You are free to leave the panel at any time should you choose to do so.

Let us know if you get accepted!

Find Mystery Shopping Opportunities: Sign Up with Shadow Shopper!

*This post contains affiliate links and we may be compensated when you use our links. DITM appreciates your support!

Sign Up with Shadow Shopper and Get Paid to Eat and Shop!

Shadow Shopper is unique in the mystery shopping industry.  They are not the company that’s shopped, a mystery shopping company or a mystery shopping scheduler.  Instead, they are an impartial and independent company, serving the best interests of the mystery shopper AND mystery shopping companies.  The best way to think of them is the middle man of mystery shopping.

Here’s how it works:

They simply, quickly and easily put shoppers and mystery shopping job schedulers together online.  Since Shadow Shopper is NOT a mystery shopping company, there is a fee for membership.  (Usually you do not have to pay to become a mystery shopper if you work for a company directly).  They offer a Bronze Membership that is free, but it is a “look before you buy” educational membership.

  • $4.95 for a 30 day Gold trial membership
  • $39.95 for a 3 month Gold membership
  • $99.95 for a 1 year Gold membership

The benefits of becoming a Shadow Shopper:

  • Instead of working for one company, you get a list of available jobs from a variety of companies.
  • You are given the job information, then you contact the company directly.
  • The company directly pays you, not Shadow Shopper.
  • You can shop on your own schedule, as much or as little as you like.
  • You can set up your preferences to be notified of only jobs you are interested in, in your area.

Try it out today and start earning money to shop!

My favorite part? The in-home product testing!

Remember: when you are signing up to take online surveys NEVER pay to join!  Those are scam sites.

Tips for Selling Stuff on Facebook

*This post contains affiliate links and we may be compensated when you use our links. DITM appreciates your support!

1
Over the last few weeks we have been spring cleaning and preparing our house for sale by owner. It’s been a huge task and the weather hasn’t exactly been the best for holding a garage sale.

I also opted against ebay for most things as shipping costs can negate any sort of deal on a lot of household items. We have done well with a few items on Craigslist, but selling on Facebook has been a huge success for us.

Tips for selling on Facebook:

Find a local group – Head to Facebook and search for ‘Your Town’ Yard Sale or similar terms. If there’s an open group, chances are you will find it that way.

Check out more than one group – I highly suggest you check not just your town, but a couple close ones you regularly go to or are not too far away as to waste gas. But, remember,  though some items are worth the drive, many people post items for a few dollars and spending $10 in gas for a $2 item doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Take good pictures – Any time you sell online this makes a difference. You want people to be able to see what it is, if there are marks and any details.

Price it right. – Take a moment to check Amazon and or ebay for prices of items new and used and price it to sell. Yes, you want to make some money off your stuff or you wouldn’t be doing this, but what’s the point in wasting your time if you over price it an no one will pay it?

Follow the rules – However, each group may have different rules, so make sure you read through them. Many require that you be willing to meet in the town the group is set up for. Don’t bump items more than allowed, follow grace period rules and the like. Many of the groups that are very active strictly enforce the rules and will remove you if you do not follow them.

Follow through on your promise – Set up the meeting time and place (often through private message after someone has put a “claim” on your picture) and make sure you stay in contact and get there. And make sure you know what the price was you listed the item at and stick to what it was or what agreement was made.

Tips to keep you organized when selling multiple items:

Take good notes – When posting more than one item and when more than one person is interested in an item, your messages and notifications can get messy in a hurry when selling on Facebook. I like to note the item as I post it and then note the name of the interested people. If it falls through with the first, I know who to move on to for the next offer with out having to dig up the messages.

Schedule it – Once you have your offer set, make your meeting time and place. Add that information to your list, but also to your personal calendar. Since the group that I use the most is in the next town (the one I do a lot of stuff in) I try to schedule multiple meet ups for the times I’m already there to save gas.

Scratch and delete – AFTER the sale is complete. I always leave the picture up until it’s gone from my possession so that I have the back up list in case of a no show. And as things are sold, I scratch them off my original list so I know what I have to track or not.

Do you sell on Facebook? What additional tips do you have?
